Hydraulic End Fittings

Hydraulic end fittings are available in various connection standards, sealing methods, and materials to meet diverse industrial and international requirements.

Fitting Types by Connection Method / Standard

JIC Fittings (Joint Industry Council)

  • Utilize a 37° flare seating surface.
  • Provide a metal-to-metal seal.
  • Known for reliability and ease of assembly.
  • Widely used in hydraulic systems across industrial and mobile equipment applications.

ORFS Fittings (O-Ring Face Seal)

  • Feature a flat face with an O-ring that compresses against a mating flat surface.
  • Offer superior leak prevention.
  • Ideal for high-pressure and high-vibration systems.
  • Common in heavy-duty hydraulic machinery.

NPT / NPTF Fittings

  • Use tapered threads to create a seal through thread deformation.

BSPP / BSPT Fittings

  • British standard thread types widely used in Europe and Asia.
  • BSPP uses a parallel thread with sealing washer or O-ring.

SAE Fittings (Society of Automotive Engineers)

  • Include various configurations such as ORB (O-Ring Boss) and JIC.

Metric Fittings

Flange Fittings (Code 61 & Code 62)

  • Used for larger diameter hoses.

Quick-Disconnect Couplings (Quick Couplers)

Installation

In order to get satisfactory service and longer life from stainless steel flexible hose, the hoses assembly should be installed in the right manner. The bending a hose assembly, particularly at the welded ends, stressed and twisted mounting and excessive fatigue are main causes of premature failure.
